    **Huawei Mercury CWM Recovery**

    Custom Recovery for the Mercury
    LEVEL: EASY.

**DO NOT SHARE MY DOWNLOADS TO ANYONE, YOU MAY LINK TO THIS THREAD ONLY.**

ROOT USING Oriax's ROOT METHOD *HERE*

    1.Download recovery image at recovery.img

2.Turn off Huawei Mercury, then turn on and hold vol.up + vol down.

3.The screen becomes pink, connect Mercury with PC via usb cable, usb drive will be mounted

4.Find file recovery.img, place it somewhere safe. Copy downloaded recovery image to where the old one was, and unplug USB cable.

5.Turn off the Mercury (pull out battery) and turn on holding volume up.

you should now have a custom recovery

Thank JonHaney for this. He modded the recovery of the Honor and asked me to make this thread. So long ago, I forgot to add credits. Sorry bro.

Has anyone actually been brave enough to try this? I see a lot of people reading this thread but no feedback on the recovery?

Noob here. What is Recovery? Is it the ROM in case you muss up the phone and can just insert this back in to get it back to stock?

Awesome! Thats great news do you know by chance if the Recovery is a spin off of any popular recoveries out there like ClockWorkMod? I am wondering if this can be leveraged through the clockworkmod app?

Yes this is clockwork and I think its the latest. This is not for use in ROM manager, as its not official.

Yes, Salas is right, so i uninstalled ROM Manager, but yes, it is based on CWM Recovery. All the bells and whistles, just not "official".
A recovery image is a part of the phone, when , in stock form, a manual way to apply an update file, or flash back to stock, or flash an update of an "official" nature. But to us ROOTED patrians, the CWM Recovery can do soooo much more. Like flashing an unoffical ROM, a custom ROM if you will. They can also man nandroid backups of your current ROM (for emergency purposes). i.e. incase something goes terribly wrong, like a restore point in Windows. It can also fix permissions if something is acting screwy, this can be a fix. Google CWM for more in depth description. On a ROOTED phone, a stock recovery image, just won't do!

yes its Clockworkmod recovery (CWM) just built by a independant dev and not koush yet. Once submitted to koush and he builds an official build with ROM Manager support it then will be about to be flashed/installed via ROM Manager, but not until then.

It wont be in ROM Manager until the dev creates a github account and pushes his device configs to it and submits it to koush. And from what I find on github this hasnt been done.
