    mobile network state

    my ascend is still having issues after the data outage. ever since i got my phone a week and a half ago i have not had data services. customer support only wants to troubleshoot and call me back, which never happens. when i check my status everything is ok except that the mobile network state is listed as disconnected. how can i fix this.

    Do you see the 3G icon in the status bar?

    I'm guessing you have done *228, and you've turned off the phone and taken out the battery?

    yep i have done it all and i am on the android plan

    So, you've called Cricket, and they said someone would call you back, right? How long have you waited for them to call back?

    You can try calling again and asking for a supervisor. Explain to them that you've been told you will be called back and never were. Then, when they say you will be called back again, demand that they help you NOW, and not tell you someone will call you back.

    just got off the phone with them and they said i need to come to the store to have them take care of it. they say it needs reprogrammed

    How can they reprogram it? You can do *228, or program it manually by doing #626*. Well, I think it used to be #626*. I don't know if it's different now or not.

    You can try calling a Cricket store to see if they can do anything about it. If they're closed, try to call one that is in the PST time zone. They should be able to tell you if they can fix it in the store or not. If they say they can fix it, ask them how, because you might be able to do it yourself.

    Does it even attempt to connect? It should at some point, at least after a reboot, say that it is "connecting".

    If you turn it on airplane mode, and then turn it off, it should probably also say "connecting" before entering a disconnected state.

    i have done that and it pops up disconnected after about five minutes of reading connecting
